Awareness

I distinctly remember going to an appointment with my teacher and complaining of a sore neck. She asked me what  I had done, and I told her that I didn't know.

Her gentle words somehow led me to the realization that I needed to be aware of my body movements at all times. Its a huge project, but the intention is deeply important. Knowing what my body is doing. Therefore, not crossing my legs or ankles while I sit at the computer.

Make every moment an exercise.

Years ago in Japan I was riding the train with one of my Mitzvah teachers, he never sat. He explained to us that he was trying to make each moment an exercise.

Taking a Pause

Its so important that we take time to pause. Our body needs time to readjust. When you practice the exercises at home: remember to pause. Walk around the room slowly, allow more changes to take place. Observe. Experience. Breath.

Gentle Diet

As the body experiences changes, it may have a lot to digest. Old patterns are being broken down.
Memories or emotions may be released, you may experience digestive change or changes in your skin. This is a natural, normal part of the healing journey.
A simple, wholesome diet is one way to  give your body the space and energy it needs to effectively digest what is being released.
Eating small meals at regular times is often a good recipe to follow. Another good recipe is called Kitchari. Here is a helpful link: http://www.ayurveda.com/online_resource/kitchari_recipe.htm
This can be a simple meal to prepare. I've recently bought a great thermos that we plan to use as a slow cooker. With some simple prep we can eat hot, freshly cooked Kitchari on the road, as we drive back to BC.

Always updating

We're still getting used to the technical side of things. You might notice that the calendar was removed. But you can still sign-up for the free lecture demonstrations by choosing a date and time. If you'd like, send me an email with any suggestions. My schedule is quite flexible.
